What is an apostille?

How to obtain an apostille in Poland?

An apostille is obtained in a three-stage procedure. Above all, we must make sure that we have all indispensable documents which require an apostille clause. This can be, for example, a certified translation of a birth certificate or diploma into English.

Next, you need to fill in an apostille application. It is important to check that all provided data are correct. You can fill in the form online on the website of the Ministry of Foreign Affair, or you can download an apostille application (specimen) and fill it by hand. The last step is to submit the application. For this purpose, you need to schedule an appointment in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. You can do it online by selecting “apostille – schedule the appointment” option. It is of vital importance to have all required documents and a proof of stamp duty paid for the certification.

Costs connected with obtaining an apostille

An apostille fee is fixed and currently amounts to PLN 60 per one document. Fees can be paid via bank transfer or in cash in the office.
